DePaul Research

What’s happening in sales today?

In academics and business, there is little substantial and reliable research conducted on the state of the sales organization on an ongoing basis which can be used by educators and practitioners to provide benchmarks in their programs. The Center for Sales Leadership faculty has developed a repository of ongoing research into the attitudes and behaviors of a broad range of target respondents:

Business Surveys

The Center conducts the “Omnibus Survey – Trends in Sales Organizations and Management” biennially, which allows students to learn current business practices and businesses to identify key benchmarking information on a national basis.

The Center conducts the “Employee Expectations, Engagement, and Retention Survey” annually, which allows businesses to understand the key areas of employee expectations, satisfaction, decision-making, and retention in the critical first two years of employment.

Student Surveys

The Center conducts the “College of Commerce Student Survey” biennially and “Sales Leadership Student Survey” quarterly to monitor DePaul students at various points in their journey to a sales career – entering the business college, during matriculation through classes focused on sales careers, and upon graduating from the program.

Alumni Surveys

The Center conducts the “Sales Leadership Alumni Survey” annually to monitor attitudes and decision-making drivers of graduates from the program to assess such critical performance measures as compensation, career growth, and turnover.

Partner Surveys

The Center conducts custom designed surveys periodically targeted at specific areas, custom-designed based on our partner’s needs, conducted by faculty in the program, and delivered drive value-related decisions.
